CLEMSON — Clemson is in the mix for 2022 running back Branson Robinson after the Tigers offered on Tuesday night.
The 5-foot-11, 218-pound Germantown (Madison, Mississippi) star possible landing spot now includes Clemson. Rivals.com has him as the top running back in his class after rushing for 1,197 yards and 15 TDs in eight games in 2020. He averaged 9.7 yards per attempt.
Rivals and 247sports.com both have him as a four-star prospect. Robinson’s offers range from Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, Florida State, Michigan, LSU, Oregon and more, but his top school remains Georgia. The draw of going to a school dubbed “RBU” is alluring to him. He’s also draw comparisons to former Georgia running back Nick Chubb.
Robinson is the third running back Clemson has offered in the 2022 class, joining Alabama commit Emmanuel Henderson and Trevor Etienne, the younger brother of Travis. The Tigers only have four commitments, highlighted by pro-style quarterback Cade Klubnik.
Clemson is still waiting on its first defensive commitment in the class.
