CLEMSON — The Trevor Lawerence era is off and running in Jacksonville.
Less than 24 hours after hearing his name called at the NFL Draft, the No. 1 pick in the 2021 NFL Draft has landed in his new home. The former five-star recruit is now the face of another football organization.

After collecting a 34-2 record as a starting quarterback for Clemson while throwing for over 10,000 yards, Lawrence will look to turn around a dormant Jaguars franchise that has never made a Super Bowl. The wait is finally over.
“It’s almost kind of like a weight lifted off my shoulders. There’s obviously been a lot of expectations coming into this draft. Nothing’s like official,” Lawrence said on Thursday night after the pick. “Then finally getting to experience this moment that we’ve all been waiting for for a long time with my family and friends was really special. I’m just so excited to be a part of the Jacksonville community.”
Lawrence is now the cornerstone of the Jacksonville Jaguars and will look to make the franchise a perennial contender in the AFC South.
