CLEMSON — The top quarterback in the class of 2023 — Arch Manning — spent the weekend in Clemson and received plenty of attention from the Tigers’ staff.
Manning, a five-star recruit per the 247Sports Composite rankings, did not take part in camp on Sunday, but he was a full participant during the Saturday afternoon session.
He worked out with quarterbacks coach Brandon Streeter throughout the afternoon, and Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney spent a considerable amount of time around Manning as well.
Swinney spent much of this week at the Dabo Swinney Camp moving around from position to position. However, Saturday afternoon he checked out Manning for a while and coached him up some during drills.
When Swinney wasn’t with Arch Manning, he was oftentimes with his parents — Cooper and Ellen. Clemson Director of Recruiting Jordan Sorrells spent time with Cooper and Ellen throughout the afternoon, showing them around the indoor facility.
As for Arch, it’s easy to see why he’s such a highly-rated prospect.
The nephew of Peyton Manning, the ball just comes off his hand differently than the other quarterbacks who threw this week. He’s accurate, has a quick release and was really impressive with his footwork.
You could also tell even in just a couple of hours that Arch Manning is a leader.
He sprinted from station to station and was always the first to arrive. There was no showboating or horse playing. Manning was very about his business.
Manning’s most impressive throw of the day came after the media had to exit the session, when he connected with four-star 2023 athlete Matayo Uiagalelei for a deep ball. While the media had to exit before the throw, it was caught on video.

Manning appears to be a ways away from making a decision, and every school in the country is after him. But it’s clear that he’s one of the top prospects in the country, and it’s clear Clemson is ready to show what it has to offer.
